Tl* the contact owns a 2012 toyota 4runner. the contact stated that while driving at 50 mph, while it was raining, with a vehicle driving in the oncoming lane, the contact swerved to the right of the roadway not to prevent a crash with the oncoming vehicle. the tire hit a patch of snow, the contact lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a tree at approximately 30 mph. the contact stated that the air bags failed to deploy. the contact sustained left hand, shoulder, and whiplash injuries while front seat passenger sustained a dislocated shoulder. the contact also stated that the floor space underneath the dashboard shifted forward six to eight inches injuring the passenger's right leg. both the driver and the passenger required medical attention. a police report was filed. the vehicle was towed to an independent collision center and later towed by the insurance company to a tow lot. the vehicle was not taken to a dealer. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure and provided a case number. the failure mileage was approximately 118,000.
Dashboard is cracking from side to side; a few cracks are right over the passenger airbag. i worry about the integrity of the airbag. if anything malfunctions, at least i'll have this complaint on record.
Took to dealership and dealership mentioned there is no problem. i keep getting letters from you by the week and my avin shows on your recall database. when i go to the manufacturer's database, it doesn't. so, what do i need to do?
Tl* the contact owns a 2014 toyota 4runner. while driving in reverse over a small bump, both frontal air bags deployed without warning. the vehicle was taken to larry h miller toyota murray (5650 s state st, murray, ut 84107, (801) 590-0640) and numerous failure codes were located. the vehicle was not repaired. the vin was included in nhtsa campaign number: 16v065000 (air bags). the vehicle was unable to be driven. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure and provided case number: 10909230699. the failure mileage was approximately 180,000.
On 7/22/2019, our 4runner rear-ended another vehicle on the freeway. speed at the time of impact was approximately 55mpg after hard braking from approximately 65mph. none of the 4runner's airbags deployed. the entire front end is destroyed. see photos.
Totaled vehicle repaired after vehicle reported totaled - vehicle not repaired adequately and is unsafe as a result of a hit and run accident. incident reported to police - insurance company, towing service, and consumer fraud by network hacking insurance information.
I am living in korea with the us military. i just received this safety recall notice 1 week ago and move to the usa in 1 month. the local dealer states they need 2-3 months to receive the parts. i will be moved before that date.
Vehicle was in a major side impact on a highway with 50+ mph and no airbags were deployed in the collision. driver was injured and taken to the hospital via ambulance. unsure if this is related to takata inflators or not. vin shows no recall notice at time of accident. vehicle was struck hard enough to separate rim from hub and break rim. driver was going approximately 20-30 mph at time of accident when cross struck by vehicle going 50+mph. *dt*jb
Takata recall- called to make appointment to have this issue resolved and the parts to fix recall are on backorder- this is unacceptable
