Takata recall. i have purchased my vehicle used and to date been unable to have passengers in my vehicle. prior to making our purchase decision we called toyota and was told airbag replacements for toyota 4runners are 2 weeks out, so we decided to purchase the car. we have contacted toyota every 2 weeks since our purchase and every two weeks we are told the same thing; "two more weeks." we were told we can not have a rental vehicle and feel as if we should not have purchased this vehicle. we are extremely disappointed in the lack of care and inconvenience this has caused to our lives. how do we get a realistic answer as to when this situation will be resolved??

Takata recall first of all... taking so long in between notices about this issue is risky isn't it??? i mean, you know you'd have a lawsuit if more people were killed or injured by the airbag defect. secondly, the toyota dealership that i called and scheduled the appointment with got me in the next day (which was great), but they failed to realize that they didn't even have the right part for my particular car! i drove almost an hour there, wasted an hour there and then they told me they were sorry and they didn't have the right part. they asked if i could bring it back tomorrow or leave it overnight, but when i asked if they'd give me something to drive they said they don't do that... so, someone dropped the ball! what if something happened to my airbag and someone was injured or killed? scott will toyota of sumter south carolina is the name of the dealership by the way. i will find another dealership and tell them to make sure that they have the right part first (because you know that's my job as the customer to pay for your screwups!!) feel free to ...

I heard about the recall probably a year ago on tv and got a notice from toyota a month ago. there solution for this is they are preparing the remedy and when finished will replace but in the mean time do not operate the vehicle with an occupant in the front passenger seat. really!! why is it taking so long? no accident but don't want one especially without an a proper air bag.

Takata recall - i was notified in 05/2016, but no action have been taken yet. on 02/24/2017 i filed a complaint with toyota about this issue. they asked me to leave my car at the dealer to be repair and rented me a car. however, after two weeks the replacement part has not been received yet. the dealer have no information about how long this will take. how much time should i have to wait for this problem be resolved? should i be without my car for so long?
