The back lift gate latch had rusted and corroded so badly that it would no longer shut all of the way or open up at all. with the lift gate in a "open" position, this made the sensors in the vehicle go crazy. i.e.: hazards randomly going off, sensor telling me my doors were open (not just the back door), locking and unlocking of the doors, etc... this all would happen when the vehicle was in moving, did not matter what type of road i was on. i replaced the faulty rusted lift gate latch and it fixed the problem. the latch itself cost $290.34.

Tl* the contact owns a 2014 toyota 4runner. the contact stated that technical service bulletin number: 0278-17i was issued regarding the automatic running boards. the bulletin indicated that the running boards may fully deploy, but then retract when stepped on or retract on their own. the failure was identified on the running board's computer sensor. the contact stated that, due to the sensor, the running boards would retract before they were even accessed. the contact called herb chambers toyota of boston (32 brighton ave, boston, ma 02134, (617) 787-1700) to inquire if they would pay for the repair. the dealer stated that the contact would still have to pay for the repairs. the manufacturer sent an inspector to the dealer and it was determined that the vehicle was no longer under warranty; therefore, the contact would have to pay for the repairs. the dealer admitted that the contact would be back within a year if he had the running boards replaced with new ones. the dealer stated that the design was faulty and the running boards were too exposed to the weather elements. the failure mileage was 61,000.

I was the second car waiting for the light to turn green so i could make a left. suddenly a honda crv made an open right turn and hit the car in front of me and myself. my toyota suffered extensive damage compared to the damage of the crv. when i look at my car i find that there is no steel bumper at the extreme left or right of the vehicle. my car was stationary. since there is no bumper to protect the vehicle the entire panels on the engine compartment shifted slightly to the right. this is mediocre and fraudulent engineering from toyota. it is also a safety issue.

The moon roof glass shattered while driving at 70 mph on an interstate highway. there were no other vehicles in front or beside us. there was a loud sound that was like a gun shot. opened the cover on the moon roof and noticed the glass had shattered. shortly there after several large parts and numerous smaller pieces fell down. the remaining section of glass was bowed up.

The windshield on this vehicle has caused eye strain, dizziness and headaches after driving long distances or commuting repeatedly. it is unnoticeable during short trips. the dealership replaced the original windshield with a new toyota glass factory windshield, and it still does the same thing. there is either a warp in the glass or something about the yellow tint used that is causing me to have severe eye strain. driving other vehicles on my commute do not effect my eyes at all, it is definitely just this windshield.
